This is a set of 3 natural-edge Plum wood blanks (Prunus domestica), cut specifically for bottle stoppers or similar short-spindle projects. Each blank measures a minimum of 1.5" × 1.5" × 2" and is ready to mount on your lathe. Each spindle has heartwood, sapwood, and a natural bark edge. A touch of spalting runs through these pieces as well, laying down subtle dark ink lines that enhance the figure without compromising the wood's integrity.

Plum is a dense, close-grained, and stable turning wood. It takes detail beautifully and finishes to a near-glassy surface with minimal effort. The warm tone ranges from golden amber sapwood to rich reddish-brown heartwood with hints of purple.

These blanks are fully air-dried to under 10% moisture content and ready to turn. We stock multiple sets of these, so your set of 3 will be similar to the ones shown but will have its own character.
