This is an eye-catching slab of live-edge Mesquite. It has the warm, reddish-brown tones and rich character that Mesquite is known for. The bark is complete and well-attached on both sides of the slab. There are several small knots and a branch that creates beautiful figure in the otherwise-linear grain (which is plane-sawn and shows beautiful cathedral figure). The opposite face has several non-structural open cracks. These can be left natural for an underside or filled with epoxy for a seamless finish.
At 1" thick, 8" wide, and 40" long, this versatile piece is well-suited for charcuterie boards, shelving, mantels, small tabletops, or custom woodworking projects. It has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content.
