This is a beautiful block of Mahogany.  It's definitely not from Texas!  We seldom have non-Texas wood in our inventory, but this is left over from a commissioned project.  Mahogany makes a gorgeous turning wood, and these blocks are perfect for small turning projects.

The grain on this block is long and straight.  The color is a deep red brown, with a beautiful chatoyance.   The wood is 8 to 10% moisture content.  

This piece is discounted because it has a large, through-going crack.  It will be excellent for small turning projects, such as bottle stoppers, ornaments, pen blanks, game calls, etc.
