Madrone Slab Md127
1.6" x 12.2" x 20"
8.4 lbs.
This is a small slab of Pacific Madrone (Arbutus menziesii) grown and sustainably recovered on San Juan Island, Washington. It has eye-catching grain and some pretty splashes of deeper Madrone heartwood color on both faces. There are also some scattered insect holes (inactive/historic) that add character to the wood.
This slab has one live edge and one squared edge. The bark on this one is only partially present -- you'll probably want to remove the rest and show off the beautiful underbark color and textures. Slab has been wet down with alcohol (safe for the wood grain) in a few photos to give you a preview of the finish.
