This is an end-grain block of Huisache (sweet acacia). It is the bright rosy/reddish-brown of Huisache heartwood with a bit of contrasting creamy sapwood. This piece is rough-sawn.

This piece has been air-dried to 8-10% moisture content. It has one open crack, as shown, that you may want to fill with CA glue.
