Black Walnut Block BW-393 3.6" x 3.7" x 15.8" 3.9 lbs. This large Walnut block includes both medium-brown heartwood and creamy brown sapwood. Sapwood dominates the block, approximately 75% of the volume, and it gradually darkens in color toward the heartwood. The grain is fairly linear throughout. The block has been dried to 10-12% moisture content. I see no cracks or other potential flaws. There are a few bugholes present on the under-bark along the wane face.
