Alder Spindles Ald74
1.9" x 1.9" x 8"
1.3 lbs.

This is a set of two Red Alder spindle blanks. The wood is a soft peachy-brown with warm undertones of red and yellow. Alder tends to have color variation from piece to piece, and these blanks show some slight spalting, which adds subtle gray-brown lines and flecks of character. Please browse the photos to get a sense of this particular set.

These squares are a good size for pens, handles, tool handles, small spindles, finials, ornaments, and other small turned projects. Alder turns and sands easily, and the light spalting gives you some natural figure to work with. Because the two blanks came from the same stock, they should be a close match for a pair of matching items.

These blanks are fully air dried and ready to turn.
