| Sweet Gum Block SG-416 1.1" x 1.1" x 10.7" 0.25 lbs. This is a pretty spindle of Texas-grown Sweet Gum. The colors are warm brown with peachy overtones. The grain is swirling and very attractive. There's a suggestion of quilting and chatoyance that I think will come out even more with turning and finishing. This piece has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. This block has a crack or two in it that you will need to secure with CA glue or epoxy prior to turning. We've discounted the block because of the cracking. |
