Lacebark Elm Block CE-48 2.3" x 2.3" x 11.5" 2 lbs. This is a very nice and interesting end-grain block of Lacebark Elm. The color is an overall golden brown with a hint of rose; this is a very warm and attractive piece of wood. There is a subtle gradation of color saturation from heartwood to sapwood. This block was cut from the outer portion of the log, well away from the pith. There are several frass-filled bug boreholes and open bug boreholes in the block, see photo 3. The open borehole intersects the top face. I see no cracks or other flaws. |
