This is a gnarly and challenging block of Texas Eastern Red Cedar.  If turning full length, you'll work around a couple of large knots and a bit of bark inclusion.  It's got great color and some pretty grain that swirls around the knots.   Another option is to cut this down into a few smaller turning blocks for things like bottle stoppers, duck calls, and the like. 

We've discounted the block because of its several challenges.  See detailed photos -- scroll down below the first three.  There are very nice parts to this block, but you'll need to do a bit of trimming.  Hence the great price!
