This is an attractive end-grain block of Texas Black Cherry.  It is almost entirely heartwood, with only a thin sliver of sapwood along one edge (which will turn off as you bring it to round). It has been air-dried to 10-12% MC.


It has a couple of small cracks that you'll want to secure with CA glue prior to turning.
