This is a nice end-grain block of Black Cherry. It is entirely a light pinkish-brown heartwood that even contains a small (and indistinct) patch of what appear to be burl buds (faintly visible on the far end of the left side, top photo). It has a very pleasing grain pattern throughout.
I see no cracks, checks or other potential flaws.
