White Oak Bowl Blank WO567
9" x 9" x 3.7"
7 lbs.

This is a robust and handsome White Oak bowl blank, known for its strength and rich, classic appearance. The wood features a light to medium golden-brown tone with subtle rays and flecks that will become apparent once turned. White Oak turns well when sharp tools are used and finishes beautifully—making these blanks an excellent choice for heirloom bowls, serving vessels, or decorative pieces.

Each blank is fully air-dried, with moisture content measuring under 10%, making it suitable for immediate turning. The blank contains heartwood, sapwood, a bit of bark and wane edge on one face, as shown in the photos. We have rough-cut them into circular shape so that they are ready for turning on your lathe. The top and bottom of the blanks are as-sawn rough surfaces. Some blanks may include minor insect pinholes or light surface checking - characteristic of air-dried oak - and can be easily addressed with CA glue if desired. These details do not compromise the integrity of the blank and can enhance its handmade, organic appeal.

Note: The photos are representative; each bowl blank is unique but pulled from the same high-quality batch."
