This dense, beautifully grained Douglas Fir turning block was grown in the San Juan Islands, where the slow growth and coastal climate produce lumber with finely spaced annual rings. The grain is mostly straight with an occasional small knot, adding just a touch of natural character without compromising workability.
Ideal for bowl blanks, vases/urns, carving projects, or accent pieces where grain clarity and stability matter. Carefully air-dried to a working moisture range of 10-12% MC, this piece is ready for the lathe or bench.
