This is a small end-grain board of Texas Eastern Red Cedar. It is entirely deep reddish-purple heartwood with a smoothly linear to gently curving grain pattern.  The board is sealed with Anchor Seal and has been air-dried to ~12% moisture content.

The back face has a small wane edge, as shown in the photos.  There are no other cracks, checks, or flaws in the board.
