| Aromatic Cedar Block ERC-308 1.2" x 1.4" x 16" 0.5 lbs. This is a nice, long end-grain block of Eastern Red Cedar. It is entirely the deep reddish-purple of Texas Cedar heartwood. The grain pattern is strong and linear to gently swirling. In places, you can see intermixing of heart and sapwood that is characteristic of ERC. This piece is very aromatic -- it smells wonderful! There is a penetrating branch-knot that shows on 3 faces. If you wish to cut this section off, you would need to remove 4" from the end. There are a few scattered wood borer holes. |
