Dense, nicely figured Douglas Fir with tight growth rings and a clean, workable texture. Mostly straight grain with the occasional small knot. It has just enough character to keep it interesting without making it overly-challenging to carve or turn.

Air-dried to approximately 10–12% MC, ready for the bench or lathe. Photos show typical color and grain; your block will be similar but unique.
