This is a square bowl blank of Texas-native White Ash.   The colors are a beautiful combination of light and dark browns (with a slight pinkish shade). The grain is tight and smoothly flowing.  There is some gorgeous quilting and chatoyance on FOUR of the faces that appears to extend well through most of the block.  I hope the quilting is visible in the photos.  I'll wet the wood with alcohol in a few photos, so that you can get a preview of how it will look when finished.

This bowl blank has been air-dried to 8-10% moisture content.   The block has some bark/wane on two edges but not enough to allow you to turn a natural edge.  There are also a few cracks that we've taken the liberty of stabilizing with CA glue.  You'll likely need to reapply while turning.
