Beautiful board of Texas Ebony wood.  It is mostly heartwood with a bit of sapwood as a wedge in one corner.  There are several knots in the board adding interesting grain patterns.  One is a bit open, and you may wish to fill it with CA glue.

This board has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. This piece has a couple of sawblade scuffs that will sand right off.  The sapwood end has some fine cracks that you could fill with CA glue or leave open. The board is plenty strong without any treatment.
